Michigan State Police say a pick-up truck driven by a 77- year- old Cadillac man slammed into the back of a Cadillac school bus Tuesday morning.
The accident happened just before 8 a.m. on E. 34 Road near Driftwood Drive.
Investigators say the school bus had just picked up a student and began to pull away when it was struck in the rear by the pick-up truck.
Witnesses say the pick-up truck did not attempt to stop before striking the bus.
The driver of the pick-up truck was airlifted from the scene to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
State Police say the 13 students on the bus received minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
