â??Red Wine for Red Crossâ?? raises money for disaster relief services
The community came together Saturday in Traverse City for the third annual Red Wine for Red Cross fundraiser.
Folks gathered at the Horizon Outlet Center as the Red Cross raised money for local disaster relief services through silent and live auctions.
Money collected during the Red Cross Heroes Campaign will help to provide services when people are hit with the unexpected.
â??We say every disaster is local and for us here we often times experience house fires, flooding which we just came off of a situation of that in the last couple of weeks, power outages during the winter months, even during the summer months but during the winter itâ??s a little more difficult,â?? said Doug Morgenstern, Northwest Chapter of the American Red Cross Board Chair.
Organizers are planning several more events during the next month as the Red Cross Heroes Campaign wraps up at the end of May.
