Our first classroom salute of the year features Mrs. Vajda's lower elementary class at Leelanau Montessori Academy in Suttons Bay.
The class is made up of 1st-3rd grade, and although it gives the kids a chance to work together, the students work independently on academics at their level.
Mrs. Vajda noted that students in a Montessori school usually spend up to three years with the same teacher. She said it promotes mentorship and peer teaching across age levels, and helps the teacher have a better understanding of how each child learns.
Mrs. Vajda has been teaching for 4 years at Leelanau Montessori, and we're so thankful she let us come visit!
Have a great Monday and good luck winning this week's ice cream party!
