Students at Dance Arts Academy are leaving their mark as they say goodbye to their current studio and prepare for a move to a new location.
Dance Arts Academy and Diva Dancewear are the last two businesses to leave the Traverse City Outlet Center, also known as Horizon Outlet.
A proposed 14-screen movie theater and mixed-use development plan is in the final steps of approval for the Garfield Township property.
The property manager plans to turn over one of the buildings to the Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department for training exercises in mid-July. Demolition could begin at the end of July pending township approval and permits.
A public hearing on the development plan for the outlet center will take place July 22 in Garfield Township.
Dance Arts Academy and Diva Dancewear have been at the Garfield Township location for twelve years.
Dance students spent time this week signing the walls with their names and inspirational messages as they wrapped up the summer dance session.
The studio and dancewear store will be moving to a new building, which is currently under construction, on South Garfield Avenue.
