Suttons Bay brewery hopes to open for the 4th of July
Good news for all of the beer lovers out there - a new brewery is going up fast in northern Michigan.
Construction of the "Hop Lot Brewing Company", located off of M-22 near 4th street in Suttons Bay, is quickly underway.
The foundation should be poured any day now and the mailbox is up. The owners, two brothers - Steve and Drew Lutke - say they expect to start brewing in two weeks (once the brewing facility is done).
This would give them between six and eight different beers on tap for opening day, and then they will continue to add more. The hope is to open the half acre beer garden July 4th, which has seating for 150 people, and then open the taproom at the end of July.
Steve Lutke said they wanted to find a place where guests weren't stuck looking at a wall, they could have a unique summer experience.
