The fourth annual Traverse City Restaurant Week got underway Sunday and local restaurants are excited about the economic boost it will give them.
From February 23rd-March 1st, people have the chance to experience the culinary wonders of the region at a discounted price. More than 30 participating restaurants are offering a three-course menu for just $25 per person.
Along with giving people an inexpensive dining experience, Restaurant Week helps stimulate Traverse City's economy.
"I think it's great for us and for all the restaurants in downtown Traverse City," said Laura Cole, a bartender and server at 7 Monks Taproom. "It just helps build our economy and always ends up being good results."
Cole also noted that the week-long event brings in so much business that the restaurant has been preparing for a full month.
Restaurants that are primarily known as bars, such as 7 Monks Taproom, also appreciate the exposure that the week-long event gives to their food menu.
