United Way launches app to bring volunteer to the palm of your hand
People looking to volunteer in the community might have easier access to opportunities thanks to a new app.
The United Way of Northwest Michigan Volunteer Center launched an iPhone app to match people with services in Grand Traverse, Antrim, Benzie, Kalkaska and Leelanau counties.
The free app was released three weeks ago. It displays current volunteering opportunities as pins on a map.
By clicking on the pin, you can call or email the organization.
An Android app is still in the works.
