      Victim arrested after assault on NMC campus

      Traverse City police have arrested the victim after an assault on Northwestern Michigan College's campus.

      According to police, narcotics were discovered in the victim's pockets when he was being treated at the hospital.

      After being released from the hospital yesterday around noon, police arrested the man on charges of narcotic possession with intent to deliver. He is now in the Grand Traverse County jail.

      The 35-year-old African-American man from Indianapolis was visiting an on-campus apartment when he was jumped by three men Friday around 8:30pm.

      The man told police he was assaulted inside the laundry room at the campus apartments after going out to his car.

      The victim described the suspects as Native American and said one was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt.
