Williams Chevrolet has partnered with Thanks-A-Bunch for Keeping Us Safe, a national nonprofit charity, to thank retired and active military personnel and first responders with a $50 dinner card.

Williams began giving away the cards on December 20th and will continue to do so until New Year's Eve, in what they are calling Hero Appreciation Week. According to a representative with Williams Chevrolet, close to 200 heroes have already come to the dealership to pick up a card.

There are more than 18,000 participating restaurants across the country, including several in Northern Michigan.

Workers at Williams Chevrolet said that they are happy to give back to the people that put their lives on the line every day.

"It's such a great cause for all of them," said Abagail Byar, a Customer Service Manager at Williams Chevrolet. "They help us every day and they go unappreciated all year-round, so it's really nice for us to be able to do something so kind for them."

If you are an active or retired military member, police officer, firefighter, or paramedic, you can stop in at Williams Chevrolet any time before New Year's Day to pick up a dinner card. There is no purchase necessary.
