YMCA holds job fair to fill open positions
The new Grand Traverse Bay YMCA is expected to open this spring, and the larger facility has a lot of job openings that need to be filled.
A job fair was held Wednesday in the current building from 4:00-7:00 p.m.. The expansion will more than double the current number of staff, creating about 50 more full and part-time positions.
Staff were on site to answer questions and accept applications during the job fair, but interviews will not happen for several more weeks.
The jobs range from administrative positions, to child care, maintenance ,and health and fitness related jobs.
"As long as you've got a passion for whatever it is, that's the kind of person that we're looking for," said CEO Tom VanDeinse. "Certainly some of the jobs have specific requirements to them and prerequisites but passion is probably the number one thing we're looking for."
VanDeinse says that applications will also be accepted after tonight's job fair. For job descriptions or to fill out an application, click here.
