      Emmet County Commissioners approve plan to sell up to $15 million in bonds

      The Emmet County Commissioners approved a plan to sell up to $15 million in bonds at Thursday's public hearing.

      The Emmet County Commissioners approved a plan to sell up to $15 million in bonds at Thursday's public hearing.

      The hearing was held in Petoskey highlighting the plan for Emmet County.

      Several projects now will be moving forward after the bond approval.

      A new program facility will use about $7 million to build an observatory building at the Emmet County headlands International Dark Sky Park. The park project will include an area for special events and restrooms.

      About $3 million of the sales will be set aside for the county's emergency medical services.

      The remaining money will be used in various projects and upgrades.
