Free parking at deck in downtown Traverse City could be thing of past
At a meeting Monday, City Commissioners will discuss getting rid of free parking at the Larry C. Hardy Parking Deck on State Street.
The policy would only apply to weekdays after 5 p.m. and on the weekends in the months of May, September and October.
Other than those times, free parking would continue the rest of the year.
The commissioners will also be discussing the Boardman River Boardwalk that would put a new boardwalk on the southwest bank of the river from the Eighth Street Bridge down to the current Boardman Lake Trail.
The Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grant would provide more than $255,000 in support for the project.
Improvements at Clancy Park will also be considered. The Michigan Recreation Passport Grant would give the city $35,000 for the project. Improvements would include walkways, bike racks and a new play structure.
