House approves bill to let some carry in gun-free zones
Wed, 13 Nov 2013 19:14:54 GMT — The Michigan House has voted to let prosecutors, corrections officers and certain retired law enforcement officers carry concealed weapons in gun-free zones. Supporters say legislation approved Tuesday and headed to the Senate is needed because the individuals have a greater risk of being harmed by people seeking retribution. Under existing law, those with concealed weapons permits may openly carry guns in schools, hospitals, sports arenas and other gun-free zones. But it's illegal to carry concealed weapons in those places
