The Traverse City Beach Bums bring back a key offensive cog as infielder Taylor Wrenn will return to Traverse City in 2014.
Wrenn hit a team-leading .288 with eight homeruns and 43 RBI in 59 games with Traverse City during 2013. For his efforts, Wrenn was signed by the Texas Rangers on August 1 and spent the final month of the season with the Arizona Rangers (AZL - Rookie) and Hickory Crawdads (SAL - A). In 17 games as a Texas farmhand, he hit .269 with three doubles, a triple, a homer and five RBI.
In addition, the Beach Bums added infielder Drew Rossi. The 25-year-old played in 28 games for the Washington Wild Things in 2011, hitting .300 with six RBI. Prior to joining the Wild Things, Rossi was an All-New England Collegiate Conference performer as a senior at Mitchell College. The New London, CT native started all 35 games at second base for the Mariners, batting .333 with a league-leading 15 doubles and 18 RBI.
