It gets no bigger than this week for the sport of canoeing and the city of Grayling as they prepare for the 66th edition of the AuSable River Canoe Marathon.
Over 70 teams are preparing to give it their all for an overnight, 120-mile race that starts Saturday night in Grayling and will run through Sunday morning, ending in Oscoda.
Time trials began Wednesday afternoon to slot the male, female and mixed gender teams for the Lemans start that will be held at 9pm Saturday night. Teams are expected to arrive at the finish line starting at 11am Sunday.
Individuals from the United States, Canada and England will be competing for a share of more than $50,000 in cash prizes.
