Ian MacDougall faced the minimum in six of his eight innings and earned his fourth straight win as the Traverse City Beach Bums knocked off the Florence Freedom 4-1 on Thursday night at Wuerfel Park to finish the series.
MacDougall (6-3) walked the first batter of the game but promptly erased him on a double play. After giving up an RBI single to Rolando Gomez in the third, the southpaw retired 11 consecutive batters before giving up a single to lead off the seventh. He forced another double play and allowed just a leadoff walk in the eighth as the only other baserunner against. MacDougall faced only three over the minimum, needing a minute 79 pitches to match his longest start of the year
In the month of August, MacDougall has gone 3-0 with a 0.82 ERA, allowing two runs over 22 innings in three starts.
