Michigan-born Olympic snowboarder Karly Shorr spent Saturday afternoon at Boyne Highlands after just arriving home from Sochi.
Shorr is giving back to the sport that she loves where she has competed in plenty of tournaments.
She was on hand for the Middle-Earth Tournament that her parents organized. She took the time to sign autographs and speak with the young competitors individually, hoping to motivate them to strive for their dreams.
"To come here and meet all these little kids who watched me and know my name, it??s so cute?| it??s cool when you do something that you love, and then you end up doing it well enough where you can inspire other people through that too, that??s the ultimate goal," said snowboarder Karly Piper Shorr.
Shorr says that the next step for her is training to make the 2015 X Games.
