Rogers City captures first softball state championship

Rogers City won their first softball state title in school history Saturday against Kalamazoo Christian, 3-2.

The Rogers City Hurons fell behind early in their division four state championship game to Kalamazoo Christian, but they quickly put that setback behind them en route to a 3-2 victory, and their first softball state title in school history.

The win meant that much more to Rogers City because Kalamazoo Christian was the team that eliminated the Hurons from the state semifinals last year.

The Comets held Rogers City to just a few hits in last years loss, one of the key motivating factors for them coming out on top in this meeting.
