Tigers' Iglesias has stress fractures in both legs

Detroit Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias says he has stress fractures in both legs and isn't sure when he'll be able to play again.

Iglesias is set to see a specialist in Colorado on Tuesday. After that, he'll have a better idea on his future status. He says he intends to play this season.

Iglesias said Monday that he's felt pain in both of his shins since spring training last year.

The Tigers acquired Iglesias during last season from Boston in a three-team trade.

Minus the 24-year-old Iglesias, the Tigers might fill his spot with a choice of three players already in camp - Danny Worth, Hernan Perez and Eugenio Suarez.

Free agent shortstop Stephen Drew also is available, and Seattle infielder Nick Franklin is a possible trade target.
