Central Lake, Lake City, Reed City nab big home playoff wins

Central Lake scored early and often in its explosive 54-20 win over Stephenson in an 8-Player state semifinal on Saturday.

Saturday's weather gave us a little bit of everything winter as we continued to navigate our way through the MHSAA football postseason.

In Central Lake, the Trojans were playing in their first state semifinal in school history. 48 minutes later and its the Trojans moving on the 8-Player Division 1 state championship game after a 54-20 win over visiting Stephenson. The Trojans will meet Deckerville for the state title on Saturday, November 18th at 11am at the Superior Dome up in Marquette.

Lake City was also at home on Saturday afternoon. The Trojans out of the Highland Conference took an early lead against Breckenridge before closing out a close victory 20-18 to advance to the Division 7 state semifinals where they will play Pewamo-Westphalia in a week.

Reed City also making its first state semifinal in Division 5 by defeating Menominee on Saturday 46-34.
