Givens now a member of U.P. Sports Hall of Fame
TRAVERSE CITY -- A high school hockey and college football career can define a person's athletic achievements on their own but couple that with an impressive run as hockey coach and state champion and you've got what it takes to be in the Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame.
Traverse City Central hockey coach Chris Givens was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame in Harris, Michigan.
He was a four year letterman in hockey and football at Hancock High School before playing college football at Central Michigan.
He's since translated some of that success to coaching by leading up the Trojan hockey program since 1995. In that span they've won over 15 conference championships and a state championship back in 2006.
We sat down with Chris in our latest Jimmy John's Sports Corner to look back on a memorable night and to see what's making things click as head coach on the ice.
