Glen Lake, Engadine fulfill dreams of playing in state semifinal games

Both Glen Lake and Engadine will be in the hunt again next year. Each team only loses two seniors entering next season.

EAST LANSING -- There are just a few games left to be played in the MHSAA girls basketball season as the state semifinals began on Thursday at the Breslin Center on the campus of Michigan State University.

The Glen Lake Lakers took part in a Class C state semifinal against Pewamo Westphalia. The Lakers held a steady lead early but the Pirates fought back and held Glen Lake off for the 64-51 win.

Over in Class D, the Engadine Eagles took on Saginaw Michigan Lutheran Seminary. The Eagles entered the halftime break tied with the Cardinals before falling in the end 64-59.
