Inland Lakes wins D4 softball state championship, TCSF falls short in D3 baseball final
EAST LANSING, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- The Inland Lakes Bulldogs have been on a mission for the past 365 days.
After losing in the Division 4 state softball finals last June the Bulldogs were determined to bring home a championship in 2017 and they did just that with a 8-0 win over Ottawa Lake Whiteford on Saturday.
The top ranked Bulldogs jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning and piled on several more runs in the sixth to win the first softball state title in school history.
Traverse City St Francis took part in the schools first baseball championship game since 1990 again Madison Heights Bishop Foley. The Glads played them tough early before Bishop Foley put up three runs in the fifth and get the eventual 3-0 win.
