Ludington advances to Class B State Title after buzzer beater

Ludington players huddling up after their 51-50 overtime win over River Rouge.

EAST LANSING, Mich (WPBN/WGTU) -- If Thursday night's thriller between Powers North Central and Southfield Christian wasn't enough, leave it to the Ludington Orioles and the River Rouge Panthers to leave you on the edge of your seats.

Ludington was down until a late rally forced overtime. Then in overtime, the Laman duo delivered a moment that is sure to remembered for years to come for Oriole fans.

Down by 2, the Orioles needed to score to either force another overtime, or win it right there. The first three pointer was off the mark. Josiah Bandstra made the play of the game by fighting for the offensive rebound. He kicked it out top, and that's when senior Noah Laman found his younger brother Joshua Laman in the corner, and the rest is history.

A game winning three at the buzzer to win, as the Ludington Orioles will now face the New Haven Rockets for the Class B State Title. Game time is 6:30 on Saturday, March 25 at the Breslin Center in East Lansing.
