Brendan Kinney joined the 7&4 news team in May 2013. You can watch Brendan on 7&4 News Today every weekday morning from 4:30-7.

His passion and excitement for the television industry started in 4th grade and has strengthened ever since that young age. Prior to calling northern Michigan home Brendan interned at WJRT-TV in Flint and WSJV-TV in South Bend, Indiana. As an intern he met many fascinating people including a woman that went skydiving for her 90th birthday!

Brendan is a proud graduate of Valparaiso University. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Television/Radio. While in school he was active in multiple campus media organizations. Brendan worked as a news reporter for The Torch campus newspaper and News Director for the campus radio station, WVUR-FM. He was then hired as the News Director and later the Executive Director of Valparaiso University Television.

During college Brendan spent a semester in Cambridge, England where he took classes and traveled across Europe. His Michigan roots run deep and can honestly say that nothing quite compares to the beauty of northern Michigan.

When Brendan isn't reporting the news he's probably traveling, spending time with family and friends or searching for a great restaurant.

Brendan loves to meet new people, so if you see him around town don't hesitate to say hello! If you have story ideas feel free to email him!
