TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- With the 2018 National Cherry Festival coming to an end, a new Cherry Queen was crowned on Friday.

This year's winner is 20-year-old Grace Boyles.

Boyles is a graduate of Elk Rapids High School and was a former Miss Elk Rapids.

Now, she's excited to represent the Traverse City area, and of course the cherry industry.

"I'm absolutely ecstatic! It's going to be crazy, but it's going to be a good crazy," said Boyles. "I'm looking forward to all the ups and downs, and I'm happy to be helping out the community every way I can."

Boyles will start her role as Cherry Queen Saturday at the Cherry Royale Parade.
