Cherry Royale Parade kicks off last day of 91st Annual National Cherry Festival

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU)-- The Cherry Royale Parade kicked off the last day of the 91st Annual National Cherry Festival.

Thousands lined Front Street through downtown Traverse City as the parade floats rolled through Saturday afternoon.

Parade goers were able to watch the U.S. Coast Guard, Traverse City police officers, the Cherry Queen and several other organizations walk through the parade.

We spoke with some of the people attending the parade, they say that the parade is a must-see event in their families.

"We woke up probably at like 4 o'clock in the morning and we got here at 5:30, we love it a lot. It's big in our family," said Kaylee Niezgoda.

"Usually our entire family gets together so it's kind of fun to hang out with the family," said Andy Hill.

Also marching in the parade was some members of our 7&4 News team and storm team, including Kristen Lowe, Mark Watkins and Brendan Kinney.
