GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- The 2019 National Cherry Festival is just around the corner and that means it is time to choose the official print for the annual festival.
Last year, McKinley Kreitner, who was a senior at the Traverse Bay Area Career Tech Center at the time, designed the winning print.
According to Bulls-i, Inc., who is running the competition, it began in 1992 but there are prints on record since 1986.
Submissions from 4th/5th grade students, middle school students and high school students from Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Leelanau Counties.
The deadline to submit a piece of artwork for the contest is March 1.
The National Cherry Festival is scheduled for June 29 through July 6.
