STYX to perform opening weekend of 2019 National Cherry Festival

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- It may be winter outside but the National Cherry Festival is already thinking warm thoughts by announcing the second performance of the 2019 Cherry Festival!

Legendary Midwest rockers, STYX, will be performing on the Pepsi Bay Side Music Stage during the festival's opening weekend on Sunday, June 30.

“We are thrilled to welcome STYX back to the National Cherry Festival on opening weekend”, said National Cherry Festival Executive Director Kat Paye. “The 2013 Cherry Festival STYX show was a virtual sellout, and the band has been much-requested by our Classic Rock fans”.

After 14 years, STYX's 16th studio album, The Mission, was finally released on June 16.

Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, February 1 at 9 a.m.

The National Cherry Festival is scheduled for June 29 through July 6.
