Baby Clarabelle: Leelanau County firefighter/EMT welcomes baby at 24 weeks

LEELANAU COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Nate Gooden is a firefighter/EMT with Leland Township Fire & Rescue, Leelanau Township Fire & Rescue and Elmwood Township Fire Department.

He and his wife Maggie welcomed a baby girl named Clarabelle at 24 weeks and 6 days. Clarabelle was born on January 24th and was due on May 10th.

She was born at Munson Medical Center and was taken to DeVos in Grand Rapids, she weighed just 1 pound, 14 ounces at birth and a week after she was born was just .96 pounds.

Both Nate and Maggie have had to transfer back and forth to Grand Rapids to see Clarabelle who will stay there until she's able to come home.

Nate said that Clarabelle has been a rockstar, progressing every day.
