LEELANAU COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) --For many, Labor Day is the end of the summer but your meals don't have to be.

Lisa Maxbauer Price, a Traverse City mother and food writer, shares a delicious end of summer recipe!

Cucumber Avocado Watermelon Salad

INGREDIENTS

2 1/2 cups watermelon, cubed

1 cucumber, thinly sliced

1 avocado, scooped into balls with a melon baller

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

juice from one lime

2 tablespoons chopped basil

salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

Prepare watermelon and cucumber and place in a large bowl. Squeeze lime over the top and gently stir. Add olive oil, basil, salt and pepper. Gently stir. Lastly, add avocado and pour onto on a large plate.

Optional: You can top with sliced chicken breast, crumbled feta cheese or seeds.
