LEELANAU COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Looking for that something special to finish off your Valentine's Day meal in a couple days? Lisa Maxbauer Price, a Traverse City mother and food writer, shares a delicious recipe for Chocolate Fondue!
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- dippers of your choice (like strawberries, pineapple, bananas, pretzels, pound cake cubes, large marshmallows)
- 8 oz, premium semi-sweet chocolate, chopped in small pieces
- 1 Tbs. butter
- 3 Tbs flavored liqueur (optional)
Arrange dippers on a platter so they can become room temperature. In a pot on the stovetop, simmer heavy cream. Add chocolate and whisk until fully melted and combined. Remove pot from stove and stir in butter. Add flavored liqueur, or skip the alcohol and add a splash of heavy cream to achieve the ideal dipping consistency. Immediately serve melted chocolate. Dip food into the chocolate using fondue forks.
