Lisa Maxbauer Price, a Traverse City mother and food writer, shares a delicious recipe for her Sweet Brunch Monkey Bread (Hungarian Coffee Cake)!

[sweet brunch] Monkey Bread (Hungarian Coffee Cake)

Ingredients

  • 3 (12 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • Optional toppings: chopped walnuts, raisins, ground flaxseeds, shredded coconut

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bundt pan. Mix white sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Cut biscuits into quarters. Toss biscuit pieces in dry mixture. Stack pieces in pan. Continue until all biscuits are coated and placed in pan. In a small saucepan, melt butter with the brown sugar over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Pour over the biscuits. Bake for 35 minutes. Let bread cool before flipping over onto a platter.
