17-year-old arrested for using fake money
ALPENA COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A 17-year-old was arrested in Alpena for using fake money at multiple places around the city.
Alpena Police Officers responded to reports that fake $100 bills were used at several places during the Brown Trout Festival on Monday.
On Tuesday investigators identified a 17-year-old boy they suspected was the one using the fake bills.
A search warrant was executed at a home on the 200 block of Parson Street.
Investigators found multiple fake $100 bills in the home and items bought with the fake money.
The 17-year-old was arrested on two counts of passing false currency.
He is lodged in the Alpena County Jail.
