25th Annual Remembrance Run Takes Place

The 25th Remembrance Run took place in Traverse City Saturday Morning.

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- Several people participated in the 25th Remembrance Run Saturday morning.

It took place at Timber Ridge Resort in Traverse City and was organized by the Traverse City Track Club.

The money raised goes to the Women's Cancer Fund through the Munson Healthcare Foundation.

It helps women diagnosed with cancer pay for things like transportation to chemotherapy, childcare or utility bills.

Many of the participants came to honor those who have battled breast cancer.

"You can just feel the spirit and the comradery here and everybody's here for the same cause and they've been touched by cancer somehow and they just want to do something to help to give back to the community, said Jeannette Storms one of the participants.

Over the years the Remembrance Run has raised more than $250,000 to the Women's Cancer Fund.
