ANTRIM COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- New charges have been given to a Central Lake woman accused of animal cruelty.
Brooklyn beck was arraigned Friday in Grand Traverse County on a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty.
Over the weekend she was brought to Antrim County to face a charge of torturing and killing an animal, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
The Antrim County Sheriff said Brooklyn Beck was released on bond for the new charge.
Beck’s bond was set at $25,000 with 10%, meaning Beck had to pay $2,500 to be released.
It was last week that the Antrim County Sheriff said they discovered about 200 animals at her Central Lake property.
Horses, dogs, rabbits, snakes and other reptiles were seized.
There were also dead animals found in a freezer.
“These animals don’t have a voice,” said Sheriff Daniel S. Bean. “You know, people and kids they all get to yell, scream and holler and say that I was abused and this is what happened, these animals don’t have that chance.”
Antrim County Animal Control is still in need of donations to help the 200 animals.
