Adoption options: Finding your new 'furry friend'

You can meet Teddy at Silver Muzzle Cottage in Rapid City.

NORTHERN MICHIGAN (WPBN/WGTU) -- Looking for a new best friend? Well, the animals below are looking for you too! Every Friday we will feature some very special dogs and cats that might steal your heart!

Meet Teddy!

Can you help rescue a senior pup and help him spend the rest of his days in a loving home?

Teddy is around 13 years old and believed to be an American Eskimo mix. It is also suspected that Teddy is in the early stages of dementia.

Teddy does well with dogs of all ages and sizes but typically does not engage with them. According to staff at Silver Muzzle Cottage, this is likely due to his vision impairment and lack of social comfortableness.

Teddy would do best with someone who is home often. A home without children is also best but this isn't due to Teddy being aggressive in any way, it's just with his vision issue and nervousness, a child's energy may be too much for him.

If you would like more information on Teddy reach out to Silver Muzzle Cottage in Rapid City. You can find the organization on Facebook or by calling: 231-264-8408.

Say hello to Dennis!

Dennis was found by a meter reader on her way to work when he was just six weeks old. Dennis was found laying down on the white line on the road and was very dirty, droopy, and tired. She took him to the nearest house and asked if he belonged there, he didn't but the homeowner compassionately took him in. That same day he was seen by a vet who could find no obvious injuries and determined that perhaps the kitten had been thrown from a vehicle and bumped his head or was just very shaken.

Dennis is now looking for his forever home. Dennis is a bit shy but playful and curious - he even knows his name and comes when called! He seems to enjoy soft music and having someone talk to him.

If you would like more information on Dennis reach out to AC PAW in Traverse City. You can also fill out a pre-adoption form and a volunteer will contact you.
