America’s Got Talent holding auditions in Detroit next week
FLINT, Mich. – If you’re looking for fame and fortune, here’s your chance. NBC’s hit reality show “America’s Got Talent” is holding auditions on Monday, Nov. 12 in Detroit.
Auditions before show producers will take place at Cobo Center, 1 Washington Blvd., in Detroit. Auditions begin at 8 a.m. and conclude at 7 p.m. Auditions are open to people of any age with any talent. The show is looking for undiscovered talent, including singers, dancer, magicians, comics, and other performance artists. Successful auditioners may be selected to take part in the next competitive rounds of the show in Los Angeles which are hosted by model Tyra Banks and judged by producer Simon Cowell, singer Mel B of “The Spice Girls”, model Heidi Klum, and comic Howie Mandell. The show’s top prize includes a cash award and the chance to headline a show on the Las Vegas strip.
Former America’s Got Talent contestant Caly Bevier visited the NBC25 studios Wednesday. The singer from the Toledo, OH area auditioned from season 11 in Detroit.
"Pretty much anything you see in the audition process is what you are going to expect in Detroit,” Bevier said. “Just bring your friends and family. Bring things that will help you pass the time and just be confident in yourself. Once you audition you should be in front of just a few producers.”

Bevier says she was initially nervous to perform in front of the judges, including Cowell. “After I finished singing, (Cowell) gave me his golden buzzer. I was actually the first person who got his golden buzzer. Then he gave me a hug, and it was really cool. It was like a dream, I was on clouds,” she said.
Bevier is now pursuing a music in Los Angeles and is preparing to release a new single. “My music career wouldn't have even got started had it not been for America's Got Talent, that opened so many doors for me.” Her first single “Head Held High” was released in July. Another song is scheduled to be released at the end of November.

The show’s producers offer the following advice to stand out during the audition process:
Be original, don’t be boring, stand out from the crowd, be fearless.
Dress to impress, come with the outfit you want to wear on TV.
People are asked to audition in advance to save time, but it is not required. If you are part of a group, only one group member needs to register. You can register here.
Producers also suggest you print or have your confirmation for casting available on your cell phone. You must also bring a photo ID with you. Auditioners must reside in the U.S. and cannot be candidates for public office.
If you can’t make one of the audition sites, you can also submit a video online here.
