Annual Beer Week brings influx of people to Frankfort
BENZIE COUNTY, Mi (WPBN/WGTU) -- Beer lovers might want to take some time out of their busy schedules this week and head over to Frankfort.
Monday kicks off the 3rd annual Frankfort Beer Week, a weeklong series of events to help celebrate all that is craft beer.
The beer buffs over at Stormcloud Brewing Co. are the ones organizing all the activities.
"We have events here at storm cloud every night," said Brian Confer, Co-Owner of Stormcloud. "But we also enlist the participation of the entire town really. Restaurants the library, the bookstore, the theater, everybody jumps in and participates, it's fantastic."
Because Frankfort is also considered a 'foodie' town, many local restaurants will be cooking up beer inspired menus.
"We are going to be involved with beer week by making some stout waffles, and baked goods with beer made at Stormcloud down the road," said Blaire Lone, The Manager of Petals and Perks Coffee Shop. "We also have some stout soup as well."
Confer said this also a great opportunity for people to check out the fall beers.
Every year the event brings beer enthusiasts from all over northern Michigan to Frankfort.
"We definitely see an increase in business," said Confer. "People come in for some of our special beer releases. We save up he harvest ales that we brew, for release during the Frankfort Beer Week. We also do some beer pairing workshops.
Confer also said though this is an extremely busy week for him, he is excited to be able to share his love of craft beer.
