Antrim County crash sends two to hospital

ANTRIM COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Officials are investigating a two-car crash in Antrim County that sent two people to the hospital.

It happened on Elk Lake Road near Orchard Lane in Elk Rapids Township around 2:59 p.m. Sunday.

According to investigators, a 2004 GMC Envoy, driven by Joshua Frank, 17, of Kewadin, was north on Elk Lake Road when he lost control on the icy road and hit a southbound Chevy Traverse, driven by Michelene Pollister, 68, of Elk Rapids.

Pollister suffered possible life-threatening injuries and was taken directly to surgery at Munson Medical Center.

Frank suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Munson for treatment.

Sheriff Daniel Bean said alcohol is not suspected and both were wearing seatbelts.
