Bay View Association gets rid of Christian practice requirement
EMMET COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- The Bay View Association, a development of cottages near Petoskey, voted to make some historic changes to its rules.
A new bylaw voted through on Saturday got rid of the requirement that members had to be practicing Christians with a letter from their pastor or church leader.
For some members of the association, this has been a topic of debate for years.
Last year, there was a separate lawsuit filed by a group of members claiming those requirements were unlawful.
That lawsuit is currently in federal court.
