Body of 'voluntary missing person' found in Mullett Lake
CHEBOYGAN COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Crews have found the body of the voluntary missing person in Mullett Lake.
A cadaver dog helped identify the area where the body was just after 5 p.m. Wednesday, Cheboygan County Sheriff Dale Clarmont said.
Clarmont said a person was reported missing Saturday evening and the investigation led them to believe the person is missing voluntarily.
Once an area was identified by the dog, a portion of the lake was sectioned off and sonar and dive teams were able to help recover the body.
“Our main goal is to bring closure to the family and we were able to do that,” Clarmont said.
Investigators don't believe foul play is suspected but the investigation is ongoing.
