GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Two 11-year-old boys from Illinois were injured when their personal watercraft collided.

It happened around 3:30 Sunday afternoon on Bass Lake in Green Lake Township.

According to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Department, one boy cut-off the other boy, throwing both of them from their watercraft.

Witnesses heard the boys yelling for help and a good Samaritan brought them to shore.

Both boys were taken to Munson Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators say the boys' parents were on shore when the incident happened.

The fathers of the boys were cited for allowing them to ride alone because under Michigan law, you must be 16 to ride a personal watercraft alone.
