BENZIE COUNTY, Mi. (WPBN/WGTU) -- Stormcloud Brewing Company is teaming up with the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail to raise funds to finish the project.
Stormcloud Builds Community fundraising initiative donates a portion of pub sales to a local nonprofit each month during the summer and quarterly in the offseason.
On July 23 from 4-6 p.m. Stormcloud will donate 50 percent of the sales from their Frankfort pub.
"Our scenic slice of Northern Michigan is a biking and hiking paradise," Rick Schmitt, co-owner of Stormcloud, said. "Many citizen-based groups and nonprofit organizations have done incredible work over the years to create the trail systems we use throughout the year. Not it's our time to do our part to help support those efforts to create pedal-powered communities for residents and visitors alike."
The Sleeping Bear Heritage trail is a paved trail that will span 27 miles from Good Harbor Beach to the Leelanau/Benzie County line near Empire.
Around 17 miles of the trail is currently constructed and open for use.
