Bull's-eye: Horseback archery competition to take place in Gaylord
OTSEGO COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- If you're a fan of the Disney movie "Brave" then you will want to check out the Michigan Centaur's second annual Michigan Open Horse Archery Championships this weekend.
Horse archery is a unique sport where archers shoot arrows or bolts towards targets in different agility courses while on horseback.
This weekend, 24 riders will compete in different courses, some timed and shoot at 3D targets with various angled shots.
The competition is this weekend on August 18th and 19th from 9a.m. to 4p.m. at Sojourn Lakeside Resort in Gaylord.
The event is a $10 donation and you should bring your own chair and cooler if you plan on staying long.
If you're interested in learning horseback archery, you can take private or group lessons with the Michigan Centaurs.
