Cadillac Area YMCA holding, waiving membership fees for federal government employees

The Cadillac Area YMCA is holding or waiving all membership fees for those who are employed by the federal government during the shutdown.

WEXFORD COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A northern Michigan community center is doing its part to help those impacted by the government shutdown.

During the shutdown, the Cadillac YMCA is holding or waiving all membership fees for anyone whose paycheck has been suspended by the shutdown.

If you are a current member of the YMCA, and employed by the federal government, your February membership dues will be held until you receive your back pay.

If you do not receive your back pay, the YMCA said they will waive those dues entirely.

If you qualify and would like this assistance, you are asked to call the Cadillac Area YMCA or Membership Director Paul King at (231) 775-3369 to create your individualized plan.
