GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- The 95th Annual National Cherry Festival is in full swing, with the Arnold Amusements Midway one of the staples for the festival.
On Thursday night however, an apparent problem with one of the rides was caught on video.
A witness tells UpNorthLive News it happened around 11 p.m.
The video shows The Magic Carpet Ride starting to sway forward and back.
After seeing what was happening about a dozen people on the ground grabbed hold of the fencing around the base of the ride to try and steady it.
For several minutes after the ride came to a stop, the harnesses remained locked, according to witnesses.
When riders walked off the decking people in the crowd cheered while others hugged their loved ones.
No injuries were reported.
Friday morning, the ride was already disassembled.
