Charlevoix City Council approves de-icing program at airport
CHARLEVOIX COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- The Charlevoix Airport will soon have a new piece of equipment to help with day to day procedures.
On Monday, the Charlevoix City Council voted to approve the start of a de-icing pilot program for the airport.
Currently, the airport doesn't have a program but a frequent customer to the airport has offered to purchase a de-icing truck to use on his plane for a year, while airport officials come up with procedures and policies for the new machine.
Once officials finish up the final touches, the airport could be using the de-icing equipment for all of its planes.
