Charlevoix County home damaged in fire
CHARLEVOIX COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A Charlevoix County home was badly damaged in a fire Monday morning.
The fire was reported around 9:30 a.m. Monday at 19534 Gennet Road in Norwood Township when a passerby saw smoke coming from the house.
Two adults and two children live at the home but no one was there when the fire started.
There were pets inside the home but all got out safely.
Crews from the Charlevoix Township and Banks Township fire departments were on scene for a couple hours fighting the fire.
The home was heavily damaged by smoke but crews say there was little structural damage.
Crews believe the fire started in the kitchen.
