Cherry Capital Airport announces direct flights to Florida


    Elite Airways hopes to expand to twice-weekly service this summer as demand increases. <p>{/p}

    GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Cherry Capital Airport will soon offer nonstop flights to Florida.

    Starting March 16, travelers will be able to go to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport on the Gulf Coast.

    The flights will depart SRQ every Saturday at 8:30 a.m., arrive at TVC at 11:30 a.m., depart TVC at 12:30 p.m., and return to SRQ at 3:30 p.m.

    "From snowflakes to sunshine in less than three hours, the new flight will allow northern Michigan residents to escape the winter weather blues while also giving Florida residents a reprieve from the heat during the summer months," said TVC Airport Director Kevin Klein.
